As part of our digital transformation journey to futureproof care for our patients, we will be embarking on three new national systems from 27 July 2024.
These three systems are the Next Generation Electronic Medical Records (NGEMR), National Billing System (NBS) and the National Harmonised Integrated Pharmacy System (NHIPS).
These three systems are initiatives by the Ministry of Health and rolled out in partnership with Synapxe with the objective to transform care delivery journey in Singapore.

GEMR enables a single unified electronic medical record across both National University Health Systems (NUHS) and National Healthcare Group (NHG). This single unified record allows us to record the entire patient journey across different care settings, enabling patient-centric care and for seamless care transition. For patients, NGEMR offers an integrated care plan that enhances health outcomes and promotes empowerment.

NHIPS is an initiative under the National Pharmacy Strategy which aims to harmonise medication dispensing and streamline medication-related billing process through a common pharmacy platform.
