2018 marks the 30th Anniversary for the National Skin Centre. During this time, NSC has marked many milestones. From developing research talents to bringing dermatological care closer to the community, NSC has had a challenging yet fulfilling journey to achieving excellence in dermatology. The number of subspecialty clinics have grown to 20 and we have continually sought to expand on the capabilities of our clinicians and allied health professionals, including the growth of nurse-led services.

NSC’s clinician researchers have worked tirelessly to explore and develop new treatment modalities, resulting in new and novel ways of managing chronic conditions. The use of technology such as High-Definition Optical Coherence Tomography (HD-OCT) and Reflectance Confocal Microscopy has also allowed clinicians to optimise use of skin imaging. Such initiatives have helped ensure that NSC is able to cater to the growing needs of the population.

As we move forward into our next 30 years, we are happy to share that come 2022, a new NSC building will stand in place of our current carpark. The 10-storey building will house a comprehensive suite of clinics, treatment centre, research and education facilities. The new building will continue to help us drive NSC’s mission to:

  • To be a centre of excellence in providing high quality, safe, and cost-effective dermatological care to the population
  • To be a leading centre for education and training in dermatology
  • To be a pivotal centre for clinical and translational research

In the setting of an innovative and nurturing environment. Construction of the new building will commence in 2018 and we seek your understanding for any inconvenience caused. During this time, NSC remains fully functional and we will continue to see patients.
