The growing demand for quality healthcare in both public and Intermediate and Long-Term Care (ILTC) healthcare institutions, bolstered by the rapidly aging population in Singapore, calls for a need for healthcare workers to continually upgrade their healthcare knowledge in order to achieve higher standards of patient care.

As part of the Centre’s ongoing effort to constantly educate healthcare staff working in both public and ILTC healthcare institutions, NSC’s nursing team organised a nursing seminar on 9 April 2016, Saturday, which saw an overwhelming 189 attendees comprising of nurses from various public and private healthcare institutions, as well as other medical professionals.

Titled ‘Coping and caring of your Skin at Different Stages of Life’ and collectively conducted by Consultant Dr Angeline Yong, Senior Resident Dr Wang Ding Yuan, and Senior Nurse Educator Sister Wong Bee Yin, the seminar focused on the various aspects of common age-related skin conditions – ranging from skin conditions commonly afflicting youths to essential skincare guidance for the elderly.

Participants enjoyed an engaging session of learning and sharing from both doctors and nurses on how to effectively adapt dermatological care for varying age groups.
