Celebrating 30 Years of Excellence in Dermatology
On 17 March 2018, National Skin Centre (NSC) supported the first Asian Dermatological Nursing Conference, organised by the Singapore Nurses Association’s Dermatology Nurses Chapter. NSC is honoured to host the inaugural conference held in NSC’s auditorium. Graced by Guest of Honour, Ms Tan Soh Chin, Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) from Ministry of Health, the conference had an excellent turnout of participants from institutions in Singapore and Hong Kong.
The session was highly interactive, including platforms to interact with speakers from Scotland’s Dermatological Nursing Group, Hong Kong’s and Singapore’s dermatology nurses and laboratory technician. The participants were able to share their knowledge on biologic education and counselling, patch testing, topical applications and skin scraping for scabies cases, etc.
“The inaugural Asian Dermatological Nursing Conference in Singapore opens a door to allow nurses from the regional countries in Asia to meet and learn from one another. With collective wisdom from various countries, we hope to bring dermatology nursing practices to greater heights,” said Ms Brenda Lim, Chairperson of Dermatology Nurses Chapter and Head of Nursing at the NSC.
In addition, the participants were also invited to view the art paintings done by members of the Dermatology Nurses Chapter and vote for their favourite ones.
